Sail through central Europe’s most iconic cities on the Danube with the former head of MI5, Dame Stella Rimington, and MI6, Sir Richard Dearlove

Flowing through four of Europe's most dramatic and beautiful capital cities, the Danube has been at the centre of momentous events in our history, from the days of the mighty Austro-Hungarian empire through to the decades of conflict between East and West in the Cold War.

Who better to explain this fascinating and intriguing story than the two special guests who will join this luxury eight-day cruise: Sir Richard Dearlove, the former MI6 chief who served behind the Iron Curtain, and Dame Stella Rimington, the first woman to become Director General of the Security Service MI5.

As well as hearing about their careers as the nation's top spies, you will experience the romance and elegance of this majestic river - from palatial Vienna and the historic old town of Bratislava to the spectacular skyline of Budapest and charming Austrian cities of Melk and Linz.

You'll also have the opportunity to taste wonderful wines on visits to the picturesque vineyards that line the Danube, go on guided hikes through the region's stunning countryside and learn about Mozart's life in Salzburg.
