    Victoria, Seychelles

Mahé is the Seychelles' largest island and home to the country's capital, Victoria. This vibrant city located on the north-west coast is small but perfectly formed. There are serene botanical gardens where the pace of life matches the speed of the Aldabra tortoises that wander its paths, and an impressive array of churches, temples, museums and galleries. Victoria is also a great jumping-off point for adventures on Mahé island. And you don't have to travel far to find yourself on one of the Seychelles' spectacular beaches, such as Beau Vallon, which is lined by swaying palms and overlooked by forest-covered mountains.
